The accommodation was impeccably clean and comfortably furnished, with every detail thoughtfully considered to create a true home-from-home experience. Clare, the host, has clearly gone above and beyond to ensure that guests feel welcome and well-cared for.
One of the standout features was the private swimming pool. It was consistently clean and well-maintained, and it felt like a personal retreat as we had it all to ourselves each time we used it. The surrounding rural setting was nothing short of idyllic. We enjoyed the rolling hills, the cheerful bird song during the day, and the soothing hoots of owls at night. A wonderful holiday…the Snug was beautiful

We visited Bude twice, Clovelly, the eden project, Newquay and Port Isaac!!
The Half Moon Inn at Sheepwash was lovely for tea one night and Life's A Beach at Bude for lunch after the sea pool!!
Love seaside life and being near the water, it really helps us to relax.
The Snug was beautiful, full of everything we needed.
The first aid kit and air fryer are great additions.
The boys loved the pool and the fishing lake!!

Spotlessly clean… very peaceful location
“Myself & my husband & 2 dogs stayed here early June this year, we really enjoyed our time here, the cottage was really lovely done & spotlessly clean & there was everything we needed to help us enjoy our stay, including towels bedding, complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits & snacks & a lovely vase of fresh flowers, very peaceful location, with nice walks along the cycle route & there’s a little bit of a wood to explore, we loved the Half Moon Inn at Sheepwash which was not too far away & served lovely food.

“We have just returned from our little staycation at the Devon Snug. What a brilliant find!
Beautiful little cottage, tucked away in the countryside! Beautifully designed and extremely clean when we arrived.
Each little detail was taken care of meaning all we had to do was unload the car, stick the kettle on and take advantage of the lovely tea cakes that were left for us to enjoy.
Both myself and partner have extremely busy jobs and a weekend at the Snug gave us time to unwind, relax and spend quality time with each other and our little boy.
Assistance was at the end of the phone if we needed anything. The owner of Devon Bolthole Holidays couldn’t have been more helpful and this is one of the reasons we wouldn’t hesitate in booking again!

”We have just spent 5 nights in the Snug cottage. It is cosy, clean and well equipped and in a peaceful and rural setting. The bed was very comfortable.

“I'm a childminder who just stayed 7th to 10th March in the Devon hideaway with my husband and son.. Its beautiful, superb decor,so comfortable, spotlessly clean, everything you could need even an air fryer, great location,lovely views thoroughly recommended!! “We had the best time staying in the Devon Hideaway this past weekend. We’re a family of 4 with 2 dogs and had ample space. The cottage had absolutely everything we could need, lots of fantastic small touches which really meant a lot and made our stay even more enjoyable! Perfect cosy small space for a getaway…
“October half term. It’s a perfect cosy small space for a get away,has all you need there. We stayed with my 11yr old daughter. She loved the quiet at night,the stars were amazing! Fun watching bats and listening to owls. Great location to both Devon and Cornwall attractions,most we went to were within a 40 minute drive. Fully equipped….extremely comfortable
”We've just returned home from a lovely few days at the Devon Bolthole. Even though it's small, it was perfectly adequate for myself, my husband, our two teenage boys, and our dog. It's fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The bed was extremely comfortable, as was the huge fold-out sofa bed!
Sadly, we did not get to use the large, well furnished decking area due to our beautiful british summer weather 🌧
My husband loved the fishing 🎣 myself, and our boys loved the heated swimming pool 🏊♂️ which we had to ourselves most of the time.
The free use of a washing machine and tumble dryer on site was also an added bonus.
I would highly recommend Devon Bolthole for a relaxing break. It's in set in the beautiful quiet countryside with stunning views. The owners went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best with the lovely addition of some welcoming treats for us and our dog.

“We just spent a lovely few days at the Devon Bolthole with my little dog too! Such a cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need including a dishwasher which was a real treat for me! Lovely touches, including fresh flowers, doggy treats and a birthday cake for my partner. So thoughtful and so clean! The area surrounding is beautiful and the on site fishing lake is well stocked if that’s your thing (not mine) but my partner had a great time and you can literally see the fish swimming around in the lake. All in all I wish we had stayed longer and were really sad to go. Thank you Clare you kept us well informed and up to date in the run up to our trip I can’t recommend the Devon Bolthole enough. 5 ⭐️ x” JULY 2023

”Just returned from a weeks holiday in the Bolthole. The accommodation is beautifully decorated in lovely pastel colours. It is also furnished to a very high standard. There was everything you could possibly want supplied as well. Also, milk in the fridge and lovely welcome pack. Plenty of good sized fish in the lake. We had a lovely break visiting different places and a must is the pub in Sheepwash. They do homemade meals from about £15 and with generous portions. Best to book though as it gets very busy.” JUNE 2023

“I have just had the most amazing relaxed week at the Bolthole Devon, this beautiful cottage is ideally placed for both Devon and Cornwall half an hour from Bude. Claire the owner is exceptional, got in touch with me throughout the week to ensure I had everything I needed, if you have a stressful job then I guarantee this is the best pace I've found to relax and unwind.” JUNE 2023

”We have just arrived back after a family break at the Bolthole, we had a fantastic stay and our children(6&3) actually cried when it was our time to leave. The accommodation was immaculate and well equiped with lots of welcoming homely touches. The swimming pool was used by us daily and was an added bonus to our stay. We ventured out within a half hour radius and can highly recommend the nature trust - Lydford gorge for a forest adventure and to explore the waterfall! We also took the children for a day out at the Hidden Valley in launceston, which they loved! Lots of activities to get involved with, a maze and train ride were the biggest hit! We will definitely be returning :) the peaceful surroundings and decked area gave a nice escape and made the evenings very enjoyable once the children were in bed, listening to the birds and having some food and drinks whilst the sunset!” MAY 2023
